Worker-AI Teaming
in the Construction Industry
of the Future

IRB-2021-1121

PIs Hasanzadeh, Karalunas, Esmaeili

The construction industry is changing and soon construction workers will work alongside robots and communicate with drones. For humans and machines to become true teammates, the future workforce must be ready for this change. We are looking for adults with and without ADHD to participate in a study aiming to ensure safety and productivity at these future job sites. If you participate in this study, you will be asked to complete questionnaires about your own behaviors and opinions, a clinical interview, and a series of brick-laying tasks in a VR environment.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are 19 to 55 years of age

  • Are not prone to motion sickness, vertigo, or seizures

  • Are students or workers who have some construction or "Do It Yourself" experience (e.g., you've painted a room or hung pictures)

  • Have no clinical conditions that could affect your gait balance

  • Have a normal or corrected-to-normal vision

Participants may be compensated up to $85 for completing all parts!

If you are interested in learning more about this study and/or how to sign up to participate, please contact our lab by clicking the link below. We hope to hear from you!
